Rachel By The Stream deliver a high-energy, animated sound that journeys through dub, pop and dance to end up somewhere completely unique. Cheeky beats, bouncing bass lines, melodica solos and classy vocals are offered up in a skilful blend of live and electronic: “a totally distinctive talent” (Tone Deaf).

British-born singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and loop artist Rachel Razelle, and Melbourne MC-turned-producer Mattriks, create music that appeals across the spectrum: from sunny afternoons to late-night antics. With six releases under their belt, from beach-pop guitar-cruisers to reggae bangers and synth-driven anthems; the quality of song craft coupled with a bass heavy sound and catchy-as-hell lyrics consistently makes for a joyous dance floor.

The pair have a close relationship between home studio and live performance, working with acclaimed UK producer Matt Coldrick (Green Nuns of the Revolution, Music For A Busy Head, Gabrielle) and creating their sound through Mattriks on MPC samples and beatbox, Rachel on vocals, synth and melodica.

RBTS have toured the festival circuit nationally (EarthFrequency, Rainbow Serpent, Maitreya Arts and Culture, Dragon Dreaming, Stacks On, Island Elements, Wallaby Creek, White Night Melbourne) and internationally (Glastonbury, RedFest, Small World, WMF), always with a focus on creating an uplifting vibe. Now touring their debut album, the situation is POSITIVE!
